The Full Story
We are Jason and Emily Summers, we met doing what we love, teaching art! With many years of education experience in the community, we truly know how to tap into the unique creativity within us all. As a family that values the importance of art in people’s lives, we saw a need for more art experiences for children. We have created a platform of which to help send waves of joy to children, families and the Santa Barbara community through the arts!
FoundCreate offers classes and workshops for kids and adults. We provide an engaging environment for the outlet of creativity, making the arts accessible and enriching for everyone. An inspiring connection and collaboration between the teacher and student results from sharing creative experiences in this non-judgmental, fully supportive space. We will instill the love of art and the appreciation of the creative process with hands-on art activities. Students will explore and experiment with high-quality materials and tools, make discoveries, learn technique, and express their ideas and feelings through drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, and in many other media.
Our studio environment will allow for each individual to feel safe to explore their creative potential.

Who we are

Emily Summers has a degree in Art Education and 16 years teaching art in the non-profit world. She values the importance of art in the lives of others.

Jason Summers has 23 years of experience in Early Childhood Education and many more as an art teacher. He values the importance of inclusion and meeting the creative needs of individuals.
